Homeless - people on the run
More than 50 million people are currently on the run worldwide. They flee war, oppression and hunger, hoping to find a new home. Large numbers of refugees have been in the past again and again. In the 20th century alone, more than 60 million people lost their homes in Europe. Victims of flight and displacement also became about 14 million Germans at the end of the Second World War. They had to give up everything, leave behind everything they had. Many families were torn apart, lost sight of the dangerous escape.
