The great show of the earth

This documentary series of BBC Earth covers some of the most surprising places on Earth to reveal the extraordinary and dramatic life of the people and animals that inhabit them. Halfway between natural history and science, the careful photography of "The great spectacle of the Earth" offers spectators the opportunity to feel inside these amazing landscapes and to be trapped in the stories of their inhabitants. From the Sherpas who risk their lives to chart a route through the dangerous ice cascades of Everest to Indonesian fishermen who work surrounded by whale sharks in the Pacific Ring of Fire. For the filming of the series, innovative graphics and advanced recording techniques have been used to capture the changes the landscape undergoes over time.
